Temperature Up!

Image
Hello Woofers Daisy here. Well, I was an hour and a half late in getting up today and while enjoying an extra hour and a bit in bed snoozing my tail off! It really made a difference, it was light everywhere and I could almost see the sniffs! We met up with woofers we would never usually meet. In the distance we saw the Hooligans and they were with Murphy the Irish Woof Hound, not close enough to say hello but we both said a hello by tossing our heads! We headed off and the sniffs were again so good you could almost see them! The sky was cloudy and hid the sun but the horizon was showing the back end of the sunshine! The forest was as damp as normal and we got back to the car without meeting anyone else. Back home I got a butt wash and had fun racing around the house waggling my butt and tail! That was fun! The Missus spend most of day stamping and playing with the gallons of ink she has secreted in the stacks of paper, card and other stuff. We watched yesterday's F1 practice that ...

Another Sunrise.

Image
Hello Woofers. It's me again. It wasn't as cold as yesterday but still loads of frost.  We got down to the top path and around the corner where the sun had come up over the horizon. Looking over towards Sheerness where the sun comes up in the morning. The sun creeping up over the back end of the forest. Wandering along the path through the forest we met up with a couple of cross bread Jack Russells. Of course they were the same size as me and had the same interest in sniffs. Yeh, I sniffed that yesterday and I reckon it was one of the Lads I stopped just before going down to the meadow and told OTL total one last sunrise photo. Looking down into the first hole in the forest where they all the contain soggy leaves! We will have to get up earlier tomorrow and catch the early morning sun! Bye for now. Luv, Daisy.

Sunrise!

Image
Hello Woofers Daisy and a Sunrise here! It took ages to clean the ice off the wind screen but it came off after switching on the heater  to the back screened  and a bit of elbow work it took a while to get it fit to drive! Walking around the top path we could see there was a glow in the sky which lit up the Bench. It was great to see a sunrise after it being so long behind the never ending bank of grey cloud. Getting to the top we could see the sun had yet to climb over the horizon. We met up with The Hooligans and a Jack Russell who had taken a liking to OTL. It was frosty and slippery along the path that leads into the forest. Before diving into the forest we took one last look at the sun and saw that it had just crept over the horizon. The forest managed to stay clear of frost and treated us to a carpet of wet and soggy leaves! It wasn't long before we got back to the car and found the frosty ice had all melted and the windows were all steamy! After a while we headed ...

We are in the Danger Zone!

Image
Hello Woofers, Daisy the Splash here! I really don't want to go out in that dangerous rain! Now, this is the first time we have been in a Danger zone, but there on the weather forecast is a big yellow patch! I looked out the window and rain was falling but not very much, so, where is this danger? We decided that any danger was up the Thames or down South. So, a quick wee and a poo and we were off home, back to a warm bed! You can't beat a warm bed! Back home to a warm bed OTL fiddled around and run off some photographs of me in my bed, I do love that warm and cuddly bed! Now, The Missus has ordered up a new set of kitchen knives but is not doing very well in the sharp blade department. She has managed so far to knick her finger twice, then the mobile hair cutting ladies managed to cut here finger as well! So we have had to invest in a new box of plasters! It's a good job OTL and I are careful with the knives! Bye for now. Luv, Daisy .

The wind has stopped!

Hello Woofers Daisy Here. Wot a change in the weather, rain, wind, sunshine, frost and the threat of floods! Today we even caught up with The Lads and just for a change, I had to take Amber to one side and give her the Woofers Warning! She will in time learn to  play properly and I suppose I'll stop telling her off! One of the blessings of the wind is the leaves got blown out of our garden and into the next doors back garden. But not only did it get blow-out of the garden it also got blown down to one end of the pond where OTL was scooping the leaves out using a net normally used to scoop fish out of the pond. Only we ain't got any fish in the pond! All manner of bugs and some strange things with legs live in the pond and I'm sure there are some with teeth! See you tomorrow. Luv Daisy.

Windy 'ole weather, Stormy 'ole weather

It's Daisy here. What a day! We were out this morning at six thirty and the wind was blowing a gale on the forest with the trees bent right over and the temperature so high ou would think there was a storm coming in! Mind you, it didn't last long 'cos as soon as we went around the corner the the wind nearly blew us back to the car park! All the way back home the wind was buffeting the car and we had to slow to stop us getting blown all over the road! Lunchtime was the same but as we were walking over the back of the field we weren't worried about getting blown into an on coming car, just getting blown into a hedge! The fence was staying in position but the tree was divesting itself of leaves and blowing them into next doors garden, except for the ones that had blown into the pond! But they were small leaves! See you tomorrow unless Storm Bert has blown us away! Luv, Daisy.

Mucking about with the weather !

Hello Woofers. Daisy hear again. Well, the chance of getting a sunrise is zero so we didn't take the camera but we were surprised just how warm it was, until we turned the corner and took the full blast of wind and down went the temperature and up went the hood!  We saw The Ladsdown on the sea wall but didn't go down to see them 'cos we don't do ball games! We were too late to see Zoro and Devo and too early for the rabbits! The wind picked up as we got closer to midday, so it was a quick wee and leg it back home! That really was all there is to the afternoon, TM was playing on the computer while OTL played at snoozing! More wind expected tomorrow so it's on with the wooly jacket and walk a bit faster! Bye for now. Luv, Daisy.

Back to cold again!

Image
Hello Woofers, Theres no wind chill here! Daisy here. Well, no snow or frost but there was a wind blowing that brought in the 'Chill Factor' which means it feels colder than it would be if there no wind! (Technical. speak for Butt freezing cold!) We didn't take the camera 'cos it was too dark for sensible photography however, we met up with Devo and Zoro again at the gate. It was fun dancing around but they couldn't hang about but said Bye Bye and hope to meet tomorrow. Walking along the top path we could hear the gulls fighting on the mud flats and noticed a flock of Brant Geese land on the mud as well. There seemed to be more Brant Geese than in past years which is good news! Back home we settled down a pleasant snooze that lasted until lunch time when we were out again on the football field and the wind was blowing through the bushes dropping the temperature . That was a good reason to get a move on and back to the comfort of a warm bed! Listening to the weather...

Cold Innit?

Image
Hello Woofers, Daisy Dog here. Morning! Morning. Now I go out with OTL while it's still dark ready to get a shot of the sunrise but yesterday it was so cold he couldn't hold the camera without shaking! The puddles were all frozen and were only good for skating on! Double salko with twist? The best thing to do on a cold morning is to tuck up in bed and snooze the morning away! You just can't beat a snooze tucked up in a warm bed! This mornings walk produced the same sort of results, a cold morning, a weak effort at a sunrise but no ice! Sunrise hiding behind the clouds! We are still using the Fish Eye lens ut we may go back to the 35mm 'cos it gives a wide angle without distortion. Don't you love it when I get all technical! I reckon that a couple of days. we should get warmer weather, claws crossed! It's snoozy time now, see you tomorrow. Luv, Daisy.

We meet Devo and Zoro!

Image
Hi Woofers Daisy Here. Well, what a start to the morning! We got out around six thirty and arrived at the car park just in time to see Devo and Zoro come around the corner! It was still dark, so there was no time to get the camera out for a photo. We had a dance around for a couple of minutes, glad to meet up with. It seems their Two Legs has changed jobs and that it the reason we haven't seen them for a while. We will have to re-arrange our visit to the sea side to hopefully meet up with Devo and Zoro again.   Even though it was dark we soon caught up with The Lads who were, as normal chasing tennis balls through the undergrowth. I don't do ball chasing but some of the larger woofers get pleasure running all over the place. They were chasing a new ball but soon managed to loose that! Hunting Balls! We all enjoyed a sniff along the middle path and as usual Amber wanted to play "Bonk' and she is a little to rough for me, so I give her the Woofers Warnng and if she does...

SNOW?????

Image
Hello Woofers. It's me Daisy Dog We left it a little late getting out today bur we did remember to get OTL to put on the fish eye lens. Now, we will have to re-learn how to work the lens.  We've had fun in the past with a combination of fish eye lens and Fiddly Diddly! This is a fish eye in standard mode. Then, if you point the lens in the sky you can bend the horizon! Scary or Wot! It wasn't long before we caught up with The Lads in the forest, plenty of leaves blowing and woofers chasing their balls. Heading towards the car park you can see how the leaves carpet the path. Heading home the weatherman was giving the weather for the week and would you believe he was forecasting snow for the midlands and up into Scotland. I'm going to have a look for my jacket before the winter sets in! Bye for now, Luv, Daisy.

It's getting colder!

Image
Hello Woofers Daisy here. I know the weather is getting colder 'cos when we go outfox walk my ears sort of go zzzzzzzzing and that is the first sign of Winter! I've just been out for the Mid-Afternoon walk and to be honest, I couldn't wait to turn around and head for home! Even the trees are getting rid of their leaves and getting ready for a cold winter. I'll be a bald tree very soon! There was no one we met on the walk this morning, it was just too dark even if there was a hint of a sunrise. It was only in the forest that. there was any sign of colour! Mind you, no squirrel or other animal. Not the most dramatic sunrise, and it didn't get any better! We really must get the fish eye lens out before all of the leaves drop and all we have are the branches! Here is the first of the bald trees! Bald trees are a bit boring unless they are covered in snow on their branches! Having just got back from my walk I think I'll have a snooze before going to bed! Bye for now...

What happened to the Sun?

Image
Hello Woofers Daisy here. Well, we were expecting a sunrise and this was based on a favourable weather report but when we woke up it was grey,  cloudy and a fine misty rain! Going up the top path we saw the Bench looking all dramatic against the grey sea. Hello Bench where you Bin? Going around the corner we found the Poo Bin! Boo! Getting close and with a little Fiddly Fiddly on the computer we got a good shot of the Poo Bin! Walking along the top path and along forest edge we found a new vista to poke our lens at! This is a big hole where the ammunition use to be stored in WWII, well away from the anti aircraft guns that used to protect Sheerness and the approaches to the London Docks! We once watched a group of firemen getting a woofer out from the labyrinth underground. The woofer was rescued in the end and told not to go chasing through the tunnels! Mind you I'm not sure if I would be brave enough to go into the tunnel. OTL and The Missus managed to get their Covid-19 in...

And Now The Rain

Image
Hello Woofers, Daisy Back with You Again. It is getting more like. winter as the days progress.  When we were out this morning it was all gloomy and damp looking but when we got to the car park it was wet and rainy! Just look at the raindrops on the gate It got worse as we walked along the shore line. Being a little late we missed all the woofers although we did see them in the distance. OTL got all excited and scooped out all of the leaves in the pond, mind you I reckon give it a couple of days and the rest of the leaves on the tree will drop into the pond and it will need clearing out again! The rest of the day has been rather dull but the weatherman has promised sunshine over the weekend but you never know, these weathermen have a favourite word, 'Changeble' to describe the weather and that description is used anything from sunshine to gale force winds!  Mind you, if it's gale force wind then all the leaves might get blown down the other end of the village! I'm off t...

At least it's not raining!

Image
Hello Woofers Daisy reporting! This getting up early lark is getting all concussing.  Take today, The Missus is stomping around in the early hours of the morning waking everyone up! Well, the noise woke me up, followed by OTL falling out of bed and into the bathroom and then out to the sea front for a walk. The early start was so early that.  we were the first down the sea wall and the sun wasn't even awake let alone out of bed! I've decided OTL should be allowed an extra half an hour in bed and then maybe we can meet up with some woofers we know! It's just too early for the sunrise! It's warm in the forest 'cos it stops the wind blowing through the trees and carpets the path with leaves. We haven't seen a squirrel for ages, maybe it's too early for them to get up! Now around where we live there are loads of bird feeders and where there are feeders there are squirrels! We saw one scampering along the top of a wall by the side of the path leading to the foot...

The Sun has gone again!

Image
Hello Woofers Daisy here again We were promised some more super sunrises today but when we got down the sea front it was a dark grey sky that greeted us! The sun was behind the clouds but not far enough above the horizon set the sky alight! There was one ship coming into dock at Sheerness but not lit up as they sometimes are. No sign of woofers anywhere although we could hear them in the distance, we were well ahead of them. It was pretty going through the forest with all the leaves on the ground and the way the trees sort of curled over the path reminded us of rabbit holes! Now if we used a fish eye lens we could curl those trees right over and make a big tunnel! OTL took delivery of a new set of head phones and spent most of the afternoon trying to match them up to the TV! The wholsaler sent us a message saying my pills will be delivered tomorrow by Royal Mail! Now, which one of the Royals will deliver them! Bye for now, Luv, Daisy.

No Sun, just a couple of clouds!

Image
Hello. Woofers Daisy here again! Well, today we were up good and early today as OTL had been promised a super sunrise. It's not the most dramatic sunrise but at least there is a bit of colour and this was the other view! Still no sun and only the clouds are still hiding it! Another Woofer Walker doing the morning stroll! And finally. As we got close to the car the leaves on the trees got more colourful! OTL spent most of the afternoon chasing my pills and his calendar wot says he has an appointment for a  blood test! See you tomorrow, Luv, Daisy

We saw the sun!

Hello Woofers Daisy here I made a bit of a whoops this morning. OTL sort of woke a bit earlier than normal which is a bit unusual, that disturbed me into kicking OTL in his back! Before long he had had his shower and was staggering down stairs, heading for his wellies and the front door! OTL decided to leave the camera at home but when we got around to the sea front there was the sun, waving at us from behind the clouds just above the horizon! Being a bit late means I missed The Lads but said hello to Jack and Bert the Hooligans! We then went through the forest kicking the leaves in the air and off the side of the path. We had some fun trying to get the radio to tune in the stations. we like, R3, Classic FM, R4  and after about an hour and a lot of trial and error we managed to get several radio stations to burble music and at one time OTL reckons he would swear it was someone on a minaret calling the faithful to prayer! Tomorrow we will take the camera! Bye for now, Luv, Dai...

Same again!

Hello Woofers, Daisy here' Well, The Missus is still up the show fiddling with the cards and a gallon of ink! OTL is still fiddling with the computer and I'm going for the Olympic record in snoozing! The weather is still dull and misty and to quote the weatherman, there is no change from yesterday! I managed to get a nibble from the Two Legs with the old sheep dog and then got woofed at for taking it away from her! I was OK cos she was on a lead and I wasn't! OTL got two fancy knitted poppies, one for him and one for TM but he managed to lose his poppy and he thinks it is in the car but TM won't search for it, too busy. sloshing the ink about! Yesterday was a big success and there were people saying they were coming back again today just so they can get a better view of the process! I'm off to have another snooze, I'm getting right used to this  snoozing lark especially if I woof and get a rawhide chew as a treat! Bye for now, we get the car back tomorrow so it...

TM Star of Stage Screen and ?????

Hello Woofers, Daisy here. There was a great crashing noise this morning as TM got ready to go out and prepare for her demonstrations over in sunny Dutton. She had taken the car so there was no chance of OTL and me using it to godown to the sea front. Instead OTL and I had to go across the field and down the long path where I had a wee and a poo in the long grass! It was the same late morning and lunchtime and late afternoon as well. Sunshine spent all day hiding behind the clouds so it was rather boring! It is going to be the same tomorrow so we are getting ready to put our paws up for a snooze for most of the day. Bye for now Luv, Daisy.

Amber's been caught sitting down!

Image
Hello Woofers Daisy here. Guess what? I managed to dig OTL out of bed by ten past six! Better still, we got to meet up with The Lads and walk along the sea front. Just look at that. sea fog and the sound of Fog Horns across the river! Not that it worried us woofers, we were more interested in sniffs instead of misty bits! If you find any good sniffs let me know! OTL had his camera with him today in the belief there might be something to photograph and shock horror, he caught Amber sitting still on the sea front and wondering who to chase next! Now, who wants to play 'Bonk' with me? How about Daisy? Amber likes to chase after me and her favourite gam is to chase me along the sea wall but I'm slowly getting use to here and when she gets too rough I give her the old 'Warning Woof' which keeps her in line! The Lads are a bit slow on their walk wot with all the ball chasing they do and it's not long before we get in front and enjoy a walk through the forest to see t...

Another Grey Day

Hi Woofers Daisy Dog Here! Guess what? Today it has been the same as the last two days, misty grey and the fog horns blowing across from Sheerness!  Boring or wot! Once again OTL was late in getting up so the sunrise was a waste of time but he carried his camera and crossed his fingers just in case! Back home he had a stroke of luck. Because he is hard of hearing he uses a set of quality headphones when he is watching TV or listening his iPad and audio books of which he has 33! Well, while sitting down watching the TV one side of the headphones suddenly went deaf, not good. So, today he researched the Internetty and found a replacement set of phones that we hope will keep him happy! He is waiting for a hospital appointment to have a hearing aid fitted, how it will affect the new head phones anyones guess! The waiting time appears to be very long so he may wear out the new headphones before anything happens! We are also expecting delivery of an AM/FM antenna to go on the new c...

It's grey again!

Image
Hello Woofers Daisy here again. Yet again it is a dismal day here in dog land on the North Kent Coast. We were expecting a red sunrise but all we got was a repeat of yesterday! Today we arrived at the car park just as The Lads were crossing the car park and although he was across, Hugo ran all th e way back, jumped into the car and had a quick cuddle before running off again! OTL has been backwards and forward to the vet to get my prescription renewed then  he spent a couple of hors trying to get the computer to talk to the scanner! Once that was done we went out looking at the fungi that sprouted overnight! Loads of Fungi. and not damaged, for a change! If I can get OTL up early enough we may catch some more fungi in the forest, who knows, we may see a Fly Agaric, we haven't seen one of them for ages! No rain at all today while the rest of the world seems to be getting a years worth of rain over night! Bye for now. Luv, Daisy.

Grey Days

Image
Hello Woofers, Daisy here. We were up late again this morning, so, as we were arriving we were in. time to see The Lads heading across the field and onto breakfast! Mind you they did all stop to say hello! We saw some other woofers but they were in the distance and I was really too busy having a sniff in the long grass! OTL has been trying to get the radio to work in the car and discovered that there was no antenna in the roof! He has been rooting around in the loft looking for an antenna with the correct size thread  to screw into the mount!  Another job he had was to get my Worming Tablet and also order a prescription.  The vet now wants to email the prescription direct to the supplier. This afternoon we have been watching the TV and getting bored with the news! It won't be long and it will all be over and they can go back to normal news! Who knows we might even see a red sunrise! By for now. Luv, Daisy

It's almost a New Car!

Image
Hello Woofers, Daisy here again! Me strapped in and ready to go! Yesterday OTL and The Missus went off to test out the new car and it seems they liked almost every thing about it, except that it is four years old! Still we only seem to take the car to the doctors or off. to get a Covid and Flu jab then of course there is the trip to the vet and my favourite, Walks! Mind you, the sea fog came down and we couldn't see very far out to sea and the possibility of catching a sunrise was zero! After the trip down to the sea front I kept my harness on but left the straps in the car or else we would be weeing over the strap! Just for a change I guided OTL through the forest to see the leaves on the path. I like to see the colours of all the leaves. We got back to the carpark and OTL took a picture before it gets too muddy! Here it is, the latest God Mobile, not a posh as the Jaguar or imposing as the Mercedes or Utilitarian sa the Van he had, but this one has a big boot! I'll get used ...
